Who buys a portable home sauna in Bogor?

The unit is 1.2×1.2 m or 1.5×1.2 m and two metres tall, in tongue-and-groove pinewood with an 8 mm tempered glass door. It reaches temperature in 25–35 minutes and holds 70–90 °C. It is not a compromise on comfort so much as a compromise on capacity: two adults fit, three do not.

How is this different from a marketplace sauna box?

The cheap boxes sold online are single-skin plywood with a foil sticker inside and a heater of unknown provenance. In Bogor's humidity they warp within a season and the smell that follows is unmistakable. Our units use the same layering principle as a built-in cabin — insulation, a genuine aluminium vapour barrier, a ventilation gap behind the lining — just at a smaller scale.

The heater is a branded imported unit with a guard, factory cover of 1–2 years and spare parts available in Indonesia rather than a mystery element that cannot be replaced. Electrical work is done properly: a dedicated circuit from your consumer unit, heat-resistant cable, breaker and ELCB, installed by our own fitters and tested with you before we leave.

Will a home sauna run on a 2,200–5,500 VA meter?

A portable unit draws 3–4.5 kW, which suits 4,400–5,500 VA comfortably. On a 2,200 VA meter it will trip as soon as the kettle joins in, so either the supply rises through PLN's change-of-capacity service — paid by the owner — or the answer is an infrared cabin at 1.7–2.4 kW, which is the usual choice in older houses around Sempur and Empang.

We check the meter during the survey rather than taking the number on trust, because in clusters around Sentul City the recorded capacity and the installed capacity often differ. Running cost for a portable unit used three or four times a week lands around IDR 200,000–500,000 a month.
