Dry sauna

Custom dry sauna cabins for homes and villas in Bogor Raya

A 70–90 °C cabin in cedar or thermowood on a vapour-tight sandwich wall, for two to eight people.

A dry sauna Bogor cabin runs at 70–90 °C with only 10–20 per cent humidity, built from cedar or thermowood on a foil-lined sandwich wall and heated by an imported Harvia heater. It suits family houses in Kota Bogor, clusters in Sentul City and villas around Ciawi. Indicative sauna price IDR 60–120 million for 2×2 m, installed in 2–4 weeks.

Why does a dry sauna suit a house in Bogor?

On the coast, stepping out of a hot cabin means stepping into 31 °C of wet air and the pleasure evaporates. Bogor gives you the opposite. Evenings in Tajur and Bogor Nirwana Residence settle near 20 °C, Sentul City drops to 15–18 °C after rain, and Cisarua reaches 14–16 °C. Dry heat at 70–90 °C with humidity held at 10–20 per cent feels like a blanket, and the hill air does the cooling the moment the door opens.

There is a second, less romantic reason: a dry sauna is the only reliably dry room in a Bogor house. When the outside air sits at 90 per cent and washing has hung for three days, fifteen minutes on the upper bench loosens shoulders and clears the chest. For three generations under one roof we build two bench levels, grandparents low where it is cooler and adults above.

How does a dry sauna Bogor cabin keep mould out?

The wall is five layers and none of them is optional here: interior panel, 50 mm rockwool, aluminium foil vapour barrier, a 20 mm ventilation gap, then western red cedar, Scandinavian spruce or thermowood. The foil stops steam from soaking into the insulation; the gap lets the cladding breathe and dry from behind. Skip either one and the cabin will smell of damp by its third wet season.

Ventilation finishes the job. Fresh air enters low beside the heater, humid air leaves through an extract fan opposite, and the fan is set to run on after the session. Benches are aspen or abachi, which stay cool and never bleed resin. Ulin and bengkirai are excellent hardwoods, but only for outdoor decking.

Electricity: how many VA does the heater need?

Heater size follows cabin volume, and the supply has to follow the heater. A two-person cabin at 1.5×1.2 m uses 3.6 kW and wants about 5,500 VA. The common 2×2 m four-person cabin runs a 6 kW heater on 7,700 VA. Six- and eight-person cabins at 8–9 kW need 11,000 VA, and anything from ten people upwards moves to a three-phase supply. Older houses in Sempur or Empang often sit at 2,200–4,400 VA, so a PLN change-of-capacity application comes first; that upgrade is paid by the owner and we calculate the figure before the quote, not after.

The circuit is not negotiable: heat-resistant SiHF cable, a dedicated breaker and an ELCB. If an upgrade is impossible — a rented house, a shared meter — the honest answer is the infrared cabin at 1.7–2.4 kW.

Build sequence and lead time across Bogor Raya

After the free survey you receive a visualisation and an itemised quote. With a 50 per cent deposit the panels, benches and 8 mm tempered glass door are fabricated in Bogor Selatan, which takes one to two weeks alongside material supply. Installation on site is then 2–4 weeks depending on size and whether electrical work is involved.

Access shapes the schedule more than distance does. Panels are made in sections two people can carry, so a first-floor room in a Rancamaya cluster or a villa in Gadog with a steep drive is routine. Every job closes the same way: we heat the cabin with you, check the temperature curve and airflow, fit the heater guard and hand over the warranty. Ranges are on the sauna price page.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a four-person dry sauna take to build?

One to two weeks of workshop fabrication and supply, then 2–4 weeks on site. A cabin ordered early in a month is normally in use before the end of the next.

Which timber lasts longest in Bogor's humidity?

Thermowood and western red cedar. Thermowood is heat-treated, so it barely moves at 90 per cent humidity; cedar is naturally resinous and resists rot. Pinewood is the budget option, best in a unit heated often.

Can a dry sauna go on the first floor of a cluster house?

Yes. A 2×2 m cabin weighs less than a large wardrobe and the load spreads across the slab. We check the slab and door widths at the survey; panels come upstairs in sections.

Does the price include the heater and the electrical work?

It includes the heater, stones, guard, heat-resistant cable, breaker, ELCB and installation. It excludes the PLN upgrade and building work outside the cabin, both shown as separate lines. Ask on the contact page.
